IATT taking a break in preperation for IATT v3.0!

Hey everyone,

So we have decided to take a couple weeks off, to take a breather and get ready for the launch of IAMTHETREND 3.0! Work is already well under way with the new site and I can not wait to show it to all of you!

When planning the new site the main goal was to keep everything super simple. We have scaled everything back and simplified the way that we show off our content and the way that you will find content. A couple weeks ago I held a small group forum through ustream in which I was able to gather a lot of really good feedback. The main complaint is that the site is too overwhelming and a bit confusing to navigate. With that in mind we have really stripped the site down to what we do best, and that is feature content from clothing, music, art and wares categories.

We are aiming for a launch around the weekend of October 23rd.

Until then we are also going to be suspending IATT TV until OCT 26th. This will be our Halloween/ new iamthetrend.com release show. We will be showing off the coolest horror inspired clothing lines as well as chatting with Kyle from Electric Zombie. He will be answering a few questions and showing off his new line!

This will be the perfect way to ramp things back up for the new site! So never fear, Iamthetrend will still be here! Back and stronger than ever in just a short time!

I also want to thank everyone that visits this site regularly and has spread the word about IATT, we love you all!

See you soon!

Review of Glamour Kills Fall Line

Glamour Kills is a brand that has continuously impressed me with their releases, but they are also a brand that in the past have been pretty easy to pigeonhole. The GK style can usually be summed up into a category of loud obnoxious colors and even louder graphics that the Warped Tour teens and tweens eat up in heavy doses. This over the top style has at times really drawn a line in the sand for people to either love or hate the brand. That all being said, I have been very impressed with the last two lines that GK has produced. Glamour Kills could easily just keep cranking out shirts with bright pink splatters and over sized graphics, but it seems to me they are really trying to push their brand into new territories.

The new fall line is a perfect example of the new slightly more grown up look of GK. Introduced for the first time are cut and sew items such as cardigans and button up flannels. These items really show GK trying to further their customer base while remaining true to their style. Aside from the new cut and sew pieces you are going to notice a lot more toned down color schemes that coincide with more of a fall look. By toning down color schemes and introducing more mature looking cut and sew pieces I really feel like GK is doing a great job at introducing new products while not alienating their current customers.

Overall I am extremely happy with the new line. The prices are fairly reasonable and the designs are spot on. I am really looking forward to more cut and sew pieces from these guys. Now we just need a sale to coincide with the launch!

Favorite Piece:

The GK Cardigan – $34.99
Very effective simple design, I can definitely see rocking this during the fall season.

Least Favorite:

The only design I really wasn’t feeling was the Stand and Unite shirt. Overall the design is extremely simple and lacking. If this was released for a lesser known brand and it would probably remain unsold.

Overall Grade: A-

WARE OF THE WEEK - IDENTITY PROPS

identity props Website: IndentityProps.com

Halloween is coming upon us sooner than you would think and with that in mind, I have started looking for the best creative and unique wares and products out there! I came across a company called Identity Props. What this company makes are reproductions of ID cards from TV shows and movies! They also offer their services to businesses as well for providing ID cards, but I find their collection of replicas to be nothing short of sheer awesome nerdiness!

If you are in need of adding a little something to your Halloween costume, say, a fake Hawaiian driver’s license owned by the one and only McLovin, or even ID cards from your favorite TV agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, Identity Props definitely has you covered.

A few of the TV shows and movies that they offer ID cards vary from Ghostbusters to Jack Bauer from 24, to the X-Files to Star Trek. These cards are all pretty reasonably priced, as the card itself is only about ten dollars. You can also add things such as a backside to the card, magnetic strips, holograms and metal clips to them to add to their realistic appearance. Also, as with all of the cards that are
offered, they are completely customizable, and you can have your name, picture and other information put onto the cards, which I think, makes them even better.

My favorite ID’s that they have up on their website are the Resident Evil ID cards, and who knows…maybe I’ll get one to spruce up my zombie costume this year…

I recommend checking them out at IndentityProps.com
