Ahhhh water...so wet, so wild...just like this week's ShirtFight submissions! There were so many designs we loved, but only one can swim above the rest...only one can be the shark (this *is* Shark Week right? hehe). And the ShirtFight shark...err, champion this week is MrDavenport with his submission "Please Sir, Play Me the Blues"! I know there's gotta be some joke about "loose lips sink ships" or "trumpet spit" in here, but I'm going to be civilized LOL! Ok so the last of our street festivals was last weekend, so we should get onto a proper Sunday Sneak Peek schedule starting next week...but in the meantime, the late sneak peek for next week's ShirtFight theme is FIRE. Top 10 Heavyweights: July 30th
July 31, 2009TGIF!!! Can you smell the weekend yet? It's that time again, we have our very deserving Top 10 Heavyweights for July 30th! This week we wanted we had *so* many amazing submissions and only 10 sports to give!...here are the new hand picked Heavyweights:
sockmonkee (portfolio) - Mr. Kim Chee is so dynamic and looks beautiful on a shirt...this was a VERY popular submission this week!
Smiths_Canvas (portfolio) - Man the halftones and white highlights is what really does it for me in "A Beautiful Knockout". I love it when artists use colorways that you don't normally see. Awesome!
animabase (portfolio) - Another two really great subs from animabase, and what's so cool is they are COMPLETELY different style than last week. I love Luchadores, and Miss Etti loves the Geisha!
sassatattoo (portfolio) - So Sassa has already established himself as an extremely talented artist, but the fact that he thinks outside the box constantly (this week was a mini collab contest) just puts a smile on my face.
Frenden (portfolio) - Speaking of extreme talent, Ray Frenden blows us away with another bad ass submission "Wolf? Where?" The lighting on this is UNBELIEVABLE!
CraigRobson (portfolio) - THIS was my favorite submission of the week. I just want to print it out and put it in a nice picture frame and set it on my desk. Actually I might do that...Craig can I get the high res from you?
xixita (portfolio) - xixita wins the "most clever" award this week with this Einstein emoticon submission. I laughed a LOT at this one!
quakerninja (portfolio) - My dear friend Quakerninja wins the "most over the top submission" this week because of his killer story behind "Monkey Grabber", not to mention that he made a marketing VIDEO about it! Insane-o!
Mathiole (portfolio) - Thriller is BACK! A really cool and creepy tribute to Michael Jackson! I dig that you went with the "facemask" look on him heheh.
hafaell (portfolio) - Persuasion was a beautiful submission, really really love the yellow and the use of the brown tee color in the linework. Sooooo nice!

Damn I love weeks like this...we had TONS of amazingly kick ass t-shirt design submissions, I mean they were all sooooo good! But in the land of ShirtFight, many enter the ring, but only one artist leaves with the championship belt tee.
