Well here we are again. It's quite a historic moment for shirtfight, and I am proud to be apart of it once again. I have always tried to add a little something extra to each piece I do. For this shirt I wanted to really dig into the culture and tradition of tribal peoples the wold over and do a spirit mask. It symbolizes for me the power of art as it relates to different cultures around the world. Every culture has their own native art form and reason for creating. Most cultures feature a mask as part of there collections. These can be for luck, satire, ceremony and other uses. In all cases they represent something more then just the face value of the design. I hope you enjoy this design as much as I do, and add your own meaning as I have. It is yours for the taking. Thank you. Newman dba quakerninja.

Dark, but a precision drawing. Is it a beast or a mask. I think it is all of us at one point of another. Can't define art, so please forgive my attempt . . . and I didn't even read the artist's descriptions.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. It's only fitting that I choose this symmetrical face for the closing of this chapter of shirt fight. This is the same technique I pioneered for my first attempts here at shirt fight, you can see a retrospective in my profile. Sometimes in contest like these I have been tempted to just put together anything I have laying around my hard drive, but for shirtfight, the competition is so great I really had to push myself to come up with new and exiting forms of expression. I always want to do a good job for shirtfight, thanks for all the encouragement over the past few weeks it has really helped me to grow, and opened up some new places to explore. The best is yet to come. Stay tuned.
